PAIR
Protection and Advocacy for Individual Rights
The PAIR program provides Protection and Advocacy for Individual Rights to Iowans with severe disabilities or mental illnesses who experience discrimination in housing or employment, or who are an ethnic minority with a disability.
It is unlawful for a public or private entity to harass or interfere with any individual in the exercise or employment of any right granted or protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
Iowa Protection and Advocacy Services, Inc. is the Governor's designated protection and advocacy agency as required by federal law. The agency is an independent non-profit corporation serving people with disabilities and mental illnesses. There are no income requirements to be eligible for services under the PAIR Program.
